MY RECORD

I spent my first term as your state representative focused on the platform that I ran on during my 2008 election campaign. The commitments I made to you included working on property tax reform, improving education, increasing regional cooperation and making investments in Bradley International Airport. I also made a commitment to remain accessible and responsive. If you have called me or emailed me I have returned your call and/or email. If you’ve sent a letter I responded.  I have held office hours and visited you at home. I make the same commitment to remain accessible and responsive to you today.

As legislators we spend much of our time working in committees. These committees have cognizance over policy areas that are important to the district while also matching my personal policy interests: Public Finance, Education and Local Government.

During my first term I served on the following committees:

I also committed time to special legislative committees that I was appointed to by legislative leaders. These appointments have allowed me the opportunity to work on legislation addressing domestic violence, regional cooperation/streamlining government and the Achievement Gap.
